Arsenal coach Spaniard Mikel Arteta announced on Wednesday that he is in favor of temporary substitutions in the event of a concussion in the head after Brazilian defender David Luiz hit his head on Wolverhampton’s Mexican Raúl Jiménez, who fractured the skull on Sunday.

David Luiz continued to play until halftime, and Arsenal insists he followed the concussion protocols. But the player was replaced as blood continued to flow from the bandage on his head.

“Perhaps it is a time for us to think about giving these people a little more recovery time and using a temporary replacement, for example”, said Arteta at the press conference ahead of the Europa League game against Vienna’s Rapid.
